Looking west down Five Mile Bay near Dunroe Is.  I found 10" of fairly solid ice here.  With the downgrade in the weather forcast I think it will be Sunday before this is clear.  Taken Apr.24/18

The view from the road looking at Holiday cove and the harbor.  Taken Apr.24/18

  1. Thanks for the photos! Trying to figure out if we're a go or no-go to open the cottage this Saturday. My assumption is on the north side of Parry Island facing the channel it will have melted. I guess we'll see!

  2. We tried to get up on Sunday. Besides the Stanleys at Glen Burney ours was the only boat in the water. We were able to make it as far as the 3 Mile Gap, but couldn’t get to our place on the other side of Channel Island. We docked at a place along the main channel and walked across the island. Hoping that this weekend we can actually dock at our place

  4. We tried to get around the North side of Parry over the weekend. We were stymied by a thick ice band in Rose Island channel and also on the north side of Rose by Kilbear. We ruined a prop trying to back out of some ice.
