I made it back home to Kineras Bay yesterday afternoon.  I was shocked to see how much ice was lost over the past week.  There is basically no snow and no ice except in back bays.  Glen Burney looked completely open and the channel was completely open. This picture shows Kineras Bay.  Taken Dec.29/14

I passed this hovercraft on my way into town at the entrance to the Seven Mile Narrows.  The channel was open all the way in.  The marinas are still iced in.  Taken Dec.18/14

The second freeze started last night.  I test drove the scoot and hauled out the boat.  I think I'm ready for winter.  All the ice and most of the snow from last week melted.  Taken Nov.28/14

"First ice"     Kineras bay unexpectedly froze over last night.  I expect all this ice to disappear with the rain and warmer temperatures predicted for this weekend.  I still have to haul my boat out.
