These two pictures were taken at the western mouth of the Indian Dock Channel at the bypass trail entrance. The Hydro guys who were out reading meters placed the yellow stakes at both entrances. The strong west winds have brought the water level up changing the 6" of last night snow into slush for about 60' from shore. The snow that fell last night was wet with a little rain on top which should crust up tonight to give good conditions for snowmobiling over the weekend. The slush should crust over as well. taken Feb.15/19

Looking west on Five Mile Bay near the Indian Dock. The latest weather event left about 6 to 8" of new snow on the ice. This has caused some slush just near shore which seems to be freezing up. The snow is heavy and dense and is already crusting up. It did not form any serious snow drifts despite the high winds. The conditions remain favorable as long as we don't get to much more snow. Strong westerly winds have brought the water up about 12". The 3" of new snow has not made for slush and I don't see signs of any new snow drifts. The conditions should be good when the wind dies down. These photos show each end and the middle of the snowmobile trail into Kineras Bay. Taken Feb.8/19

A couple pictures along the snowmobile trail. Yesterdays weather event reduced the snow pac by about 6". There is still about 15" in the bush. Taken Feb.5/19
Today there is about 2" of slush under a 3/4" crust on ice on top. Most of the snow drifts have been reduced but the remnants are rock hard. I expect the slush to freeze solid tonight leaving the ice in good condition but with very little snow on top. Taken Feb.5/19
