 These pictures were taken around Star Island which is near Amanda Island just behind Freedom Island.  This is an area where water flows between islands and thus is open.  There is 15" of thick ice on Five Mile Bay, 14" on Kineras Bay and 24" near the docks at Point Pleasant Marina.  In my opinion the South channel will not be ice free until around April 24th if the long range forcast holds.  Taken Mar.26/18
