I was into town last week (Jan.21) by snowmobile across Five Mile Bay. Most of the ice was good at 7 to 8 inches thick. However about 25% is about 6 inches thick and covered with slush that make going more difficult. I was in on Jan. 26th and the conditions had not improved much.

The ice between the Indian Dock and Shasha is is between 7 and 8 inches thick with very little slush away from shore. The ice on the west end of five mile bay is still about 4 inches thick with about 4 inches of slush on top.
